Quarantine News: a NEW Solo EP, Collaborations and "Porch-casts"!

Hey everyone, I hope you are all staying safe at home.

We’ve been doing the best we can here in Pasadena. It’s hard to stay productive when you’re watching a toddler most of the day, like I am, but I’ve managed to make some things of interest:

“All Cooped Up” - a Quarantine EP (plus Sheet Music)

I manage to write two tunes from scratch at home, “All Cooped Up” and “Front Porch Swing” while staying at home, and so I recorded those along with another original “Untitled in G”, Keenan McKenzie’s tune “Buffalo Convention”, and that ole’ chestnut, “Tea for Two”.
Without access to a great studio, I did the best I could at home, using my own mics (a DPA4099 mounted on the guitar, like I use live, and a Rode NT-3 about a 1.5-2 feet away for bit of room sound) into Garageband. My 1939 Gibson L-5 really needs a setup, so I just used my 1932 L-5 (rough, I know).
This is a DIGITAL ONLY release for now and the foreseeable future, and it’s currently ONLY available on bandcamp. jonathanstout.bandcamp.com/album/all-cooped-up-quarantine-ep

ALSO - the sheet music for the tune “All Cooped Up” in standard notation AND tab is up as well. Everything but “Tea for Two” should be up in the bandcamp store within a week or two.

Collaborations

I’ve been lucky to be included in several collaboration projects and videos - DIG!

Here’s a three guitar composite backing track I created to backup my Scottish friend Ali Affleck:
