Great Link: Playing Swing and Sweet Music Of the 1930s and 1940s

Here's a great link that talks about the rhythm style of the 1930's-1940's. The point-of-view of the article is clearly of a frustrated bandleader that has to deal modern jazzbos all the time. Still, the philosophy is pretty much dead on.

Hello,

Just finding your blog (followed a link to a page, then another link, etc., then I found myself here).... Wanted to comment on this link especially. I'm a cornet player in the Washington DC area and the link is to Dave Littlefield's page, a trad piano/banjo/guitar player around here. I've never played with him as a leader, but since he started as the regular piano player in a trad group I play with I think he's straightened us out a bit. :)

I'm always trying to learn more, and I'm looking forward to following up on a guitar player's perspective

This site started off pretty well only to be sold later by the owner. The new management which took over the site reset all the balances of the users. Although the new owners who go by the zenith replica watches James and Ultra tried their best to clear earlier dues and make payments on time, the site just couldn't pay up. Shortly, the forum was also closed.
