]]>Jonathan Stout presents LIVE MUSIC every week at the Southland Strutter's Ballhttp://www.campusfive.com/home/2009/12/13/jonathan-stout-presents-live-music-every-week-at-the-southla.htmlCampus Five2009-12-13T07:52:52Z2009-12-13T07:52:52ZSince October, the OC Swing Club has been sponoring live music at their Wednesday night venue, the Southland Strutter's Ball in Orange, and they asked Jonathan to put the music together each week.

So each week, Strutter's Ball will be hosting "Jonathan Stout presents Live Music."

The idea will be to feature different groupings of Southern California's best Swing and Traditional Jazz musicians, both to introduce the dancers to the musicians, and the musicians to the dancers.

Each week will be a musical suprise. Some weeks will feature Django-y Quartets, others Kansas City-Style Swing Sextets, or New Orleans-style Quintets, or heck even a whole Big Band every once in a while. Most weeks will feature unique mash ups of musicians, but with plenty of established bands rotating through.

We hope to get people to come every week, and have each week be a bit of a surprise, so we may or may not advertise exactly what group will be playing. But each week, Jonathan will be overseeing things to make sure the music is always danceable! (No 5+ minute songs, no ballads, always good varieties of tempo all night)
